Map, Cestius Pyramid in Rome

Normally when you are thinking about pyramids you think of Egypt. But actually you can find a pyramid even in Rome. You find it at one of Romes ancient ports, Porta San Paolo.
It’s one of Romes best preserved buildings from the ancient period of time.

It was build in 12 BC and it was a tomb for Caius Cestius Epulo. Later Cestius pyramid become a part of the giant defensive walls that surrounds Rome.
